Services for Ferndale Marine killed in Afghanistan
BELLINGHAM, Wash. (AP) — Gov. Chris Gregoire has directed that flags at Washington state buildings be lowered to half-staff Tuesday in memory of a Marine captain from Ferndale who was killed in Afghanistan. Daniel B. Bartle was one of six Marines killed in the Jan. 19 helicopter crash. The Marines were based in Kaneohe Bay, Hawaii.
